A dog by the name Boo (JH Lee) has written a book in Obama-land. In its book, Boo, little dog in the big city, the dog introduces itself to friends, both humans and other dogs and says its favourite thing is to hang out with its best friend, Buddy.
“We are best friends forever,” Boo says and invites Buddy, a fellow dog, for an adventure. Boo enjoys going out for a walk in the beach and sunbathing in style.
When Boo is not shopping for a new bed, it is trying out new clothes. Boo often passes by the bookshop as it likes to re-energise its mind.
Being such a famous writer, people at the bookstore recognise it as a celebrity, and so Boo ‘pawtographs’ a few books. After that, it rewards itself with a snack — a huge bone and some queen cakes.
It then passes by the park and meets a few friends. Sometimes they cuddle and sometimes, each dog just needs its space. Boo loves all its friends, but nobody compares to Buddy, it says.
After their day of adventure, Boo and Buddy check into a doggy hotel with their travelling bags. Then the lounging begins.

“Every dog can use some pampering,” Boo confesses and then goes for a dip by the pool. Then Boo and Buddy freshen up for a delicious dinner. Boo and Buddy share a room and a bed at the hotel, so they snuggle up and “peekaboo”.
In the morning, Boo calls for room service and there comes a hearty breakfast: bread, butter, milk, dog biscuits and an apple — to keep the doctor away.
“We had so much fun in the city,” an excited Boo says in its book, “but there is no place like home.” I totally agree.
“I can’t believe I’m coming out with my second book already! There are lots of humans and dogs that I’d like to thank,” an appreciative Boo writes.
And so Boo thanks its editor, Jennifer Kong at Chronicle Books, for giving a little dog with a silly haircut a chance.
It also thanks photographer Gretchen LeMand and designer Amy Achalbou and many others who contributed to the success of its book and Facebook fans for brightening up its every day!

This book makes my heart heavy with guilt. If a dog can look back and thank all the people who helped it up the ladder, what about me? I have been such an ungrateful wretch.
So like Boo, I wish to thank all my family, relatives, friends and neighbours who did a fundraising for me, the Kenyan community in Washington, New York and Maryland who helped me settle here.
And oh yes, I must thank my best friend, Damaris, for her loyalty and love.
