Woman shot as gang attack Kitengela estate

Nairobi, Kenya: Armed gangsters attacked three households in an estate in Kitengela town on Thursday night and shot a woman.

The thugs attacked State Villas II estate at around 2am after cutting the fence. A woman aged 40years was shot at her right hand after a group of thugs entered her house through the window.

According to the victim’s brother, Geoffrey Kasamba, the family heard commotion in the house and went to check what was happening only to find thugs had already entered the house.

``It is unfortunate that my sister was shot on her right hand after screaming. Her husband, myself, and the house help remained in our rooms as the thugs fired shots,’’ said Kasamba.

 The thugs escaped after stealing electronics.

She was taken to Shallom Community hospital Athi-river where she was referred to Kenyatta hospital.

Neighbours from the same estate who went to check the house that was attacked were also robbed of electronics.

Sheilla Mungani a neighbour said her electronics were stolen when she went to help her neighbor.

``When we had shouts and screams in our neighbor house while getting out, we were shocked to find our door widely open with all electronics and curtains in the sitting room missing,”  said Mungani.

Confirming the incident the area Deputy OCPD, Charles Rotich said police are investigating the incident.
