Kwale to spend Sh91m on Jua Kali sheds, stalls

Kwale, Kenya:  Kwale County government will advance loans amounting to Sh46 million to small-scale Jua Kali artisans this financial year, Governor Salim Mvurya has announced.

Mvurya also promised to exploit the county's resources for the benefit of the residents, who are among the poorest in the country.

"We want to use the resources, which include vast mineral deposits, to improve the livelihoods of our people," said the governor, adding Sh45 million would be used to construct sheds and stalls.

He was speaking in Matuga, Kwale yesterday during a Jua Kali dialogue conference.
