Embattled Kanyenya-ini MCA in Murang'a has lodged a formal apology to the County Assembly seeking a reinstatement.
Grace Nduta last week wrote to the leadership of the Murang'a County Assembly tendering her apology as she also seeks to be reinstated to committees and quash the four-month suspension imposed on her for alleged misconduct.
Speaking to The Standard, Nduta confirmed writing to the assembly asking for mercy.
"I admit having written to the county assembly through Speaker Johnson Mukuha," she said without divulging more information.
Last month, the assembly suspended her for four months and kicked her out of committees after she allegedly belittled her colleagues in a debate in a Whatsapp group.
Muguru MCA Moses Muchiri in his social media account in reference to the letter by Nduta, said the assembly was busy and would soon break for a recess.
"Once we are back, the house business will be lined up for the interest of the public," said Muchiri.
County Assembly Speaker Johnson Mukuha said the letter was in his custody.
"The letter was received awaiting deliberation by the relevant committee, "said Mukuha without divulging more information.
On Sunday, Water CS Alice Wahome waded into the battle to reinstate Nduta saying the matter requires to be approached in a sober manner.
"The battle has been handled by MPs Mary Wamaua and Betty Maina has been heard, thus now the need to look for elders to approach the county assembly to have the issue concluded," said Wahome.
The county government moved to ensure the health facilities had drugs following the uproar.
