Raphael Kiome and Chege Njuguna are among those who have already hit the ground running trying to convince electorate to vote for them.

Others are radio journalist Evelyn Waithira, Kelvin Kimani, former nominated MCA Lucy Nyambura Ngugi, and construction management lecturer at the University of Nairobi Injinia Mwaura.

Some of the aspirants contested for the seat in the August 9 elections and were defeated by Wahome, either during United Democratic Alliance nominations or the General Election.

Speaking at Kabati, Kiome said he would complete projects initiated by Wahome.

"I also want to boost avocado farming by looking for more international markets," said Kiome.

Nominated MCA Diana Muthoni said most residents were waiting for direction from Wahome on who to back should she be appointed CS.

"There are those who are already campaigning but Wahome, as a senior politician, will give us guidance on who to succeed her," she said.
