NYANDARUA: A middle aged man is admitted at JM Kariuki hospital in Ol Kalou after his private parts were chopped off by thugs on Saturday.

The man was walking home in the evening when he was accosted by six men.

Nyandarua acting county commander Benjamin Onsongo said that they demanded money from him and other valuables.

“The victim was walking home alone when the robbers emerged from a nearby bush. They demanded that he surrenders all his valuables and they were armed with crude weapons,” he said.

Onsongo said that it was when he resisted that he was slashed with a panga.

“They later chopped of his private parts before fleeing leaving him writhing in pain. He was rescued by good Samaritans and taken to hospital,” said Onsongo.

He noted that police have since arrested three of the suspects identified by the victim.

The suspects are being held at Ol Kalou police station.

“They are giving us information that will lead to the rest who are still hiding. We will arraign them in court to have them charged with robbery with violence,” he concluded.
