Nakuru Senator Tabitha Karanja has supported calls to recall non-performing legislators while admitting that all was not well in the country.

The senator questioned the source of funds and opulence from some MPs when thousands of Kenyans were sleeping hungry due to the harsh economic times.

This comes at a time when the country witnessed a series of protests over how the government was conducting its affairs and the rise in the cost of living.

Karanja, who came from the corporate world, told of her shock over the massive wastage of public resources in the government.

While lauding the action taken by Gen-Z, she accused some of her counterparts in parliament of letting down the electorate who put them in office.

“In the corporate world, those who don’t perform are sent home, and I support calls to recall all those legislators who have failed to perform,” she said.

She spoke during the burial of prominent Naivasha businessman Samuel ‘Mashwa’ Macharia.
