Three brothers from Lilloch in Kipkelion West Constituency accosted and killed their 60-year-old father after he turned down their demands to subdivide and allocate them his coffee plantation.
According to Lilloch area chief Joshua Tonui, Bernard Korir,30, Joshua Korir,20, and Ezra are Korir,15, attacked and beat their father James Langat to death after he brushed aside their demands.
"The domestic quarrel between the young men and their father has been there for along time. One of their quarrels stemmed out of the young men demands to be allocated coffee plantation," he said.
Tonui added: "Things took a nasty turn last night after the sons picked a quarrel with their father and [they] beat him to death before fleeing the scene."
The administrator added that villagers pursued the killer brothers into their hideout and made citizen arrest.
"The suspects are now being held at Kipkelion Police Station awaiting to be arraigned [in court] for the murder," said Tonui.
He attributed domestic quarrels tearing apart area families to drug and alcohol abuse, especially among the younger generation.
"It's unfortunate that some children disrespect their parents and attack them whenever they can't get their way over anything," said Tonui.
He declared war against drug and alcohol abuse as he asked other stakeholders in the area to assist security agencies to join in the fight against the vice.
