Onami Grill and Sushi bar restaurant, located on the second floor of Westgate shopping mall in Nairobi’s Westlands, has one of the most fascinating interior dÈcor in the city.

What particularly sets this restaurant apart is its comfortable ambience made possible by the exceptional play of glass, lighting, furniture arrangement, choice of colours and staff uniform.

Patrons enjoy drinks at the bar.

To make up for lack of green, Onami interior gives one the impression of large space discreetly partitioned into private quarters, each with its own unique individual appeal. The impact of the design is visible right from the entrance.

A wooden bar area runs from the roof to the ground. Japanese writings visible all round is yet another unique attraction of the restaurant. Polished wooden furniture and large oriental paintings hang on the walls, setting the exotic mood that is ideal for a romantic or special meal. If you want to, you can peep into the kitchen and observe the four professional Japanese chefs enthusiastically prepare the ever so colourful meals. There are 40 different cocktails at Onami for patrons to choose from to accompany their meals or to just imbibe for fun.

The neatly arranged bar is enhanced with neon lighting while the toned colours present mirror-like reflections. The creative use of space allows the waiters to glide unobtrusively around the restaurant. At the far end is a huge bell and gong that simultaneously serves as a decorative and functional piece — it is sometimes used to call attention to special celebrations being held at the restaurant.
