Heavenly treat at ladies lounge and Spa

By Cathy Ochung

For slightly over five months now, Seraph, a ladies lounge and spa, has been one of Nairobi’s well-kept secret. Not any more.

Situated on Dennis Pritt Road near State House, the spa is a stunning transformation of what once used to be a bungalow and promises a heavenly treat for clients.

Hanging trees, a variety of comfy lounge seats on well-manicured green lawns and garden umbrellas sets the mood in this exotic beauty parlour. It takes an effort for one to believe they are in Nairobi.

A fountain flows endlessly in the lawn and is quite a scene by itself. The outdoor bar offers an opportunity to sample a range of cocktails. Inside, intricate designs blend with soothing colours all in sync with the surroundings.

Like all professional spas, Seraph offers services that include special beauty and care therapy, variety of massages and wraps among many other treats.

The outside setting is just as captivating. The outer wall has a chipped finishing that pervades the entire building giving it a luxurious feel.

The waiting area is equally impressive with Italian paintings, wooden seats, wide windows and long drapes.

The interior rooms do not disappoint, with unique designs and colours right from the salon to the treatment area. The cumulative effect is an ambience of rest and peace.

Some areas have a distinctive African theme bolstered by hanging crafts, artefacts, dÈcor and curved doors.

Without necessarily experiencing the services on offer, the serene atmosphere immediately relaxes the mind. I wonder what the feeling gets like after the therapeutic treatments from the professionals!
