Githunguri MP Gathoni Wamuchomba has expressed concern over the recently released National Dialogue Committee (Nadco) report.

She said she was concerned by the potential incorporation of Azimio la Umoja Coalition (Azimio) officials into key government positions should the recommendations of the report be implemented.

She claimed there was a scheme to reshuffle the Cabinet to accommodate the opposition into the government, a move that will disadvantage those from Mt Kenya.

“Once MPs pass the Nadco Report in Parliament, the first thing that will happen is a Cabinet reshuffle to accommodate Raila’s people”.

She added: “We wanted to take our issues into the Nadco committee but the President stopped us promising he would lead in the campaign. They downplayed the Nadco committee and told us not to take our issues to the committee because they were only managing Raila, now we shall be on our own.”

Wamuchomba fears that such a move could lead to an imbalance in the political landscape, allowing Azimio, a coalition that has been a significant opposition force, to gain undue influence within the government.

“They have fired for no reason 276 people from our community. As if that was not enough, Ruto is now on the verge of forming a government of national unity with him (Raila) after the passing of the National Dialogue Report (Nadco) report,” she said.

She argues that this could undermine the current administration’s agenda and create a power shift that may not reflect the will of the electorate. The Nadco report, aimed at fostering national unity and political stability, suggests various reforms and inclusivity measures.

Her statements have sparked debate about the implications of the Nadco report, highlighting the possible tension that may arise in government should their fears come true

However, Nyaribari Chache MP Zaheer Janda has dismissed the claims saying the partnership between Raila and the government was to help him capture African Union Commission chairmanship.
