A 22-year-old man in Kasarani’s Mwiki area in Nairobi has denied fracturing his former lover’s leg over claims that she had been talking to his first wife.

Kelvin Marube, according to court documents, committed the offense on November 11, against Rachael Mwangi.

That day, the accused person met with the complainant after they separated following unresolved issues.

The complainant said the separation seemed to have hurt Marube deeply and he would cause a disturbance whenever they ran into each other.

She said her friends were always forced to rescue her whenever the man went berserk with intention of attacking her.

Marube claimed that he was furious that while Mwangi had dumped him, she was still communicating with his first wife with whom he has a child.

He is blaming his first wife for the trouble in his new relationship which also ended.

X-ray

On the material day, Marube reportedly went berserk when he saw the complainant and he attacked her. He knocked her down and in the process her leg was fractured.

Although she was clearly in a lot of pain, Marube refused to help her but boda boda riders who had witnessed the incident took her to a nearby hospital where she was given first aid.

She was later transferred to Ruaraka Neema Hospital where an X-ray procedure revealed that she had a fracture in her leg.

She was treated and after being discharged from the hospital, she reported the matter to police who arrested Marube.

The accused denied claims and he was released on a bond of Sh500,000. The matter will be mentioned on March 3, 2025 for pre-trial.
