NCIC condemns violence, calls for talks to resolve protest grievances

The National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) has condemned the recent loss of lives, destruction of property, and rising incidents of violence witnessed during the nationwide demonstrations held on 25th June and 7th July 2025.

In a statement, NCIC Chair Dr Samuel Kobia said: "Many young Kenyans feel excluded, unheard, and increasingly disillusioned. Their frustration stems from a combination of factors: high unemployment, economic hardship, lack of trust in institutions, limited opportunities, and a perceived failure of leadership to address their needs and aspirations."
