In an article published in The Standard website on December 10, 2024, titled '28 Killed, 37 Injured in bombardment of fuel station in Sudan's capital', we inadvertently attached a photograph of South Sudan's President Salva Kiir — which had nothing at all to do with the story -- instead of an image relevant to Sudan.

Once we were informed of the mistake, we immediately removed the picture and replaced it with the appropriate image.

We take this early opportunity to apologise to President Salva Kiir, the people of South Sudan, and our readers for the regrettable mistake, which arose due to a mix-up in our production process. We assure the President and our readers that the mistake was unintended and that we remain committed to the highest standards of journalism.
