The much awaited 2024-2025 Football Kenya Federation (FKF) National Super League is set to kick off on Saturday with six matches on the cards across the country.
APS Bomet FC will welcome Mombasa United FC to Bomet Stadium.
APS Bomet, one of the league’s newly promoted sides, will be looking to replicate their dominant display in last season’s FKF Division one that saw them win the zone B title.
At Sudi Stadium, Nzoia Sugar FC is set to lock horns with Fortune Sacco FC. Nzoia Sugar this season will be looking to fight their way back to the FKF premier League following their relegation last season while Fortune Sacco will have eyes set on back to back promotions. Fortune Sacco were 2023/24 Division One play off winners.
Meanwhile, Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos will see Naivas FC square off against MOFA FC. Naivas FC, fiercely contested for promotion last season but fell just short of their target.
Luanda Villa SC will face Kibera Black Stars FC at Mumboha Grounds, Luanda. The Black Stars are a storied NSL side with years of experience, while Luanda Villa will on their second season have proven to be worthy opponents.
The action continues as Muhoroni Youth FC will start their NSL journey when they take on Dimba Patriots FC at Muhoroni Stadium.
Known for their passionate fanbase and electric atmosphere, Muhoroni Youth will be desperate to kickstart their season with a win. However, Dimba Patriots, a team filled with tenacity and a never-say-die attitude, will aim to spoil the home side’s ambitions.
Rounding off Saturday’s fixtures, Darajani Gogo FC host Migori Youth FC at KIHBT Grounds in Ngong.
As the dust settles on Saturday’s battles, Sunday, September 22, will bring its own brand of football excitement. Samwest Black Boots FC will open the day’s proceedings against SS Assad FC at Vapor Grounds, Ngong.
Over in Kisumu, freshly promoted side 3K FC will be hosted by Kisumu Allstars. Kisumu Allstars, seasoned opponents in this league will be looking to continue in the rich form they ended last season however 3K FC will be eager to showcase their mettle in their first NSL match.
In Mombasa, the coastal breeze will greet Mombasa Stars FC as they take on Nairobi United FC at Serani Sports Club. Mombasa Stars have been quietly building a solid team, and this season, they are determined to make waves. However, Nairobi United, another team with big ambitions, will be no pushover. Nairobi United were at the cusp of FKF PL promotion narrowly missing out on the opportunity.
Finally, Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos will play host to MCF FC as they lock horns with former FKF Premier League side Vihiga United FC. Vihiga, fresh off a rebuilding process, are determined to return to the top flight and reclaim their former glory. MCF FC, however, will look to assert themselves as a team capable of competing with the best, setting up a tantalizing fixture to close out the weekend.
