Oscar-winning actor Leonardo DiCaprio turned 50 on 11 November 2024. The globally celebrated icon is widely known for his remarkable acting skills.

Throughout his outstanding career, he has collaborated with some of today’s most acclaimed filmmakers and tremendous actors. Leonardo has worked with the legendary film director Martin Scorsese about six times.

The latest masterpiece from this talented duo, alongside other actors and actresses, is Killers of the Flower Moon, released in 2023. DiCaprio's first big break was on the ABC sitcom Growing Pains, and he has been an audience favourite ever since.

Leonardo DiCaprio has also worked with legendary director Quentin Tarantino, and these films earned him an Oscar nomination. They collaborated on Django Unchained and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. He received an Oscar nomination after Once Upon a Time in Hollywood stole audiences’ hearts and became a major hit.

Leonardo has made incredible blockbusters with other award-winning directors like James Cameron, Clint Eastwood, Alejandro González Iñárritu, and Steven Spielberg, as well as Oscar nominees Ridley Scott and Adam McKay.

DiCaprio rose to fame at the age of 19 and won his first Academy Award nomination in 1993 for What’s Eating Gilbert Grape, which was a stepping stone to his successful acting career. To date, he has received eight nominations from the prestigious Oscars, with seven as an actor and one as a producer.

These nominations include the recent Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and the Best Actor award for The Revenant. He also received a nomination as a producer for Best Picture for The Wolf of Wall Street. DiCaprio has won a Screen Actors Guild Award for The Revenant, competing against 11 other nominees.

The Wolf of Wall Street star has collaborated with an all-star cast, including Oscar winners like Meryl Streep, Cate Blanchett, Mark Rylance, and Jennifer Lawrence. Together, they created the Netflix film Don’t Look Up in 2021. DiCaprio has starred in other iconic movies, such as Titanic, Blood Diamond, The Aviator, The Departed, and Catch Me if You Can.

As he continues to age like fine wine, movie lovers can look forward to more remarkable films from the iconic actor.
