Oscar Sudi explains how he acquired Sh17million watch

Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi is no stranger to controversy and he stirred up another conversation this week after flaunting his Sh17million watch. Well, if time is money, then the legislator has some precious minutes on his wrist. Speaking during Obinna's show, Sudi said he loves shoes, cars and watches and believes in having the finest things. Asked how he acquired it, the lawmaker said he was gifted by a former Prime Minister who is a close friend of his. "Initially I did not know how much it cost...this watch was not made for trees or cows, it was made for human beings. "I was gifted this watch by a friend of mine, a former Prime Minister from a different country who is very close to me. He gave me two watches," he said. Sudi also set the record straight regarding his contributions in fundraisers saying he has friends who chip in but Kenyans are quick to judge him. He said he started working when he was just 15 years old and did several odd jobs before he started making good money. "I have sold charcoal, I have worked as a conductor and driver, I have sold fruits...I bought my first matatu when I was still young. "Not every wealthy man acquired property through dubious ways. In fact, instead of criticizing me, some people should come to me for classes on how to run several businesses," he said. Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi Reopening of Timba XO Sudi's popular entertainment joint Timba XO in Eldoret was looted and badly damaged by goons during the recent countrywide protests and he admitted that it was sad to see that it got to that. He said he incurred losses upwards of Sh48million but would reopen the facility in the next ten days. The MP added that the situation would have turned ugly had the police confronted the looters but he opted against it because a lost life cannot be restored. "We would have killed over 50 people that day but I told my guys not to touch anyone...I thank God because things would have turned out differently. "I would rather lose as a person and recover. My arms are still intact and I still have my brain and that is why we will be opening Timba XO next week on Wednesday," he said. Timba XO Sudi said the joint had employed over 220 employees but he took it upon himself to ensure they received their salaries even though it was temporarily closed. Describing himself as a philanthropist, he said he has employed over 1500 people across his ventures and takes pride in the fact that some children can feed, go to school and sleep in decent houses due to his entrepreneurial mind.
