NAIROBI, KENYA: The 16th Nairobi International Book-Fair which ended on Sunday was branded the biggest so far with a record number of exhibitors, both local and international.
The Westgate assault only reduced the traffic to the Fair but did not dampen spirits nor the resolve of Book loving Kenyans to experience new products, Authors and Children Activities.
Moran Publishers received several rave reviews including one from Professor Jacob Kaimenyi, Cabinet Secretary for Education, who was quite impressed by our Integrity Readers.
The Book-Fair committee takes this chance to thank the Management, Editorial and Publishing squad not forgetting the Accounts and Warehouse troop, who worked tirelessly to ensure all processes progressed smoothly.
It is true we went to the Sarit Centre while KDF was still engaged with the terrorists at Westgate (a few metres away), and when no Kenyan wanted to be close to any mall whatsoever, but as Meg Cabot says “Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgement that something else is more important than fear.”
“And to the team in the field, I also leave you with a quote from Richelle E. Goodrich, from her book titled; Eena, The Companionship of the Dragon's Soul.”
“Brazen it out! Throw away the scabbard! Grit your teeth, buckle down, and die with your boots on! Or in other words......be determined and resolved until you accomplish the thing you set out to accomplish.”
