Politicians and aspirants for various elective seats have been falling over themselves to please Kenya Certificate of Primary Education exam candidates.

Using customised success cards and offering meals, the politicians reached out to those sitting the tests in the 926 centres within their localities.

Cards bearing the images of Governor Kivutha Kibwana and his deputy Adelina Mwau urged the candidates to be calm and confident as they write the tests.

Incumbent MP Jessica Mbalu wished the candidates well as she distributed relief food in Kambu town.

Kenya Medical Training College board chairman Philip Kaloki, who is eyeing the Kibwezi East MP's seat, also sent cards bearing his portrait.

A total of 29,082 candidates are writing their KCPE exams in the county.
