Plans are at an advanced stage by the county government to set up an Information, Communication and Information (ICT) incubation and training iHub centre for revenue collection, research and job creation.

The County ICT Director Leonard Wakoli said the iHub centre will be based at Matili Technical Training Institute in Kimilili Sub-County.

The centre, which will cost the county Sh200 million to set up, will help migrate county operations to a digital platform.

“Website linkages, and other e-county enterprises will need a centralised ICT hub as the platform for all e-transactions,” said Wakoli.

Wakoli said iHub is envisaged to become a serious innovation and mentoring centre to anybody talented in ICT, particularly the girl child.
