Moi’s visit to Mulinge caused a stir in Machakos and Kathiani districts as residents turned up to catch a glimpse of the former President on the Mahakos-Kathiani road.

Moi had several stops to address crowds on his way to Mulinge’s Kathiani home.

He arrived at Mulinge’s home shortly before 1pm. They discussed various issues before they took lunch together.

"Habari za siku nyingi mzee? (How have you been?)," Mulinge asked the former president as he received him from his wheel chair in his sitting room.

Moi said he was happy to see him after a long time.

Also at hand to receive Moi was the former general’s son, Ambassador James Mulinge, former councillors Davies Musau, among other local leaders.
