BPO boss exits after six years

One of the pioneers in the business process outsourcing industry has resigned from ADEC Kenya.

Pravin Eazhawa exits the company after being at the helm for six years since the Philippines-based BPO firm entered the Kenyan market.

He is the founding country director of ADEC Kenya, which he says he built into an entity to reckon with in the field of business process management and data analytics.

“I believe in leaving an organisation like a sportsperson when you are at your prime and not when your performance is not up to the mark,” said Eazhawa.

The company has since diversified the business from classical BPO to be a data analytics company. They also started impact sourcing that gave Form Four leavers an opportunity to be part of ADEC.

“We trained them for free to join our workforce. We have also empowered women, who are 90 per cent in the firm’s leadership team,” said Eazhawa.

ADEC Kenya was runner up at the inaugural SME Awards and KEYA Awards 2019, an initiative of Export Promotion Council.

On what next, Eazhawa said he wants to take time off to spend with family. He is also the national director, skills and vocation development for youth at the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

“I thank the co-founders of ADEC, Jim Donovan and Carol Esguerra and the entire ADEC Kenya team for helping me and the company scale these heights,” he said.
