By Beauttah Omanga

New opinion poll results indicate the ‘Yes’ side of the referendum divide enjoys 68 per cent support, while the ‘No’ side has a fan base of 25 per cent.

According to the study carried by TNS Research International, the Greens headed by President Kibaki, PM Raila Odinga, and VP Kalonzo Musyoka enjoy massive support in Western and Nyanza provinces.

In these provinces, ‘Yes’ enjoys 86 per cent, and 85 per cent support.

"We traversed all provinces to get a true reflection of how things will turn out on August 4," said the group’s director Geoffrey Kimani.

The poll suggests the ‘Yes’ vote stands at 46 per cent in the Rift Valley where the ‘No’ team leaders, retired President Moi, and Higher Education Minister William Ruto, hail from.

Eastern Province has the highest number of registered voters (13 per cent), who have not decided yet on how to vote on referendum day.

The study done between July 23 and 25, indicates all registered voters in North Eastern intended to vote.
