Deputy President Kithure Kindiki made an unexpected visit to the Kanyuambora Irrigation Water Project in Mbeere North, which turned into a significant moment for Geoffrey Ruku, the Member of Parliament for Mbeere North.

The visit, which took place shortly before 3pm, was initially a routine inspection of the ongoing project but became the setting for breaking the important news of Ruku’s nomination as Cabinet Secretary for Public Service, Human Capital Development, and Special Programmes.

The news of Ruku’s nomination was officially announced just as the Deputy President’s helicopter took off from Kanyuambora, adding to the significance of the moment.

Upon landing at the project site, Kindiki spent about 20 minutes interacting with workers, even helping them with underground water pipe installation, before breaking the news to Ruku personally.

The Deputy President’s impromptu visit allowed him to deliver the news in person, marking a pivotal moment for the MP and his constituents.

Ruku, speaking shortly after the visit, expressed his gratitude to President William Ruto for the nomination, calling it a great honor.

He accepted the appointment with enthusiasm and pledged to serve with the same dedication and commitment that he has shown over the past two and a half years in Mbeere North.

“I will serve the nation with the same vigor I have dedicated to the people of Mbeere North,” Ruku said. He also emphasized his strong belief in President Ruto’s development agenda, vowing to work tirelessly to fulfill the president’s promises to all Kenyans.

The news of Ruku’s nomination was welcomed by his constituents, who praised him as a development-oriented leader committed to improving their lives.

Many highlighted Ruku’s unwavering dedication to driving projects and lobbying for the advancement of his constituency.

DP Kindiki, who was at the site for the announcement, also took the opportunity to commend Ruku for his tireless work.

“Geoffrey Ruku is a hardworking leader who always pushes us to expedite development initiatives for his people. We are committed to ensuring that these projects are brought to life,” said Kindiki, reinforcing the importance of collaboration between the local and national governments.

Ruku’s acceptance of the nomination signals the beginning of a new chapter in his public service career. If confirmed by the National Assembly, Ruku promised to continue advocating for development in Kenya, ensuring that the country moves forward under the leadership of President Ruto.
