Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka yesterday asked President William Ruto to release 82 Kenyans who have been abducted in the last three months, on a day when youths staged fresh protests in several parts of the country.
Kalonzo said the buck stops with President Ruto regarding the current spate of abductions.
He also called on Kenya’s international partners to take note of the serious crimes against humanity being perpetrated by the Kenya Kwanza regime and to add their voice in condemnation.
Kalonzo said the Ruto regime has embarked on the practice of abducting youths for expressing their opinions on social media.
“This terrible practice of abduction by hooded brutes is reminiscent of the dreaded Adolf Hitler’s Nazi militias,” he said.
He made the demand when addressing the media at his Karen home, flanked by Jubilee Party Secretary-General Jeremiah Kioni and several members of his Wiper party.
He said that, to date, none of these balaclava-wearing gangsters, clearly captured on CCTV, have been arrested. Musyoka added that there could only be one conclusion: they receive their instructions directly from State House, Nairobi.
Social media gang
Musyoka continued: “Let us not pretend about this. What is clear — no matter the type of whitewashing, chest-thumping, and sugar-coating Ruto’s misguided social media gang attempts to do by sponsoring all manner of hashtags — is that William Ruto is the Chief Commander of the Abduction Squad.”
He described this year as a “very difficult and painful year” as he called for justice for the victims of the June Gen Z protests that led to the deaths of several youths at the hands of police.
“2024 will be remembered as a very difficult and painful season.
The year, and in particular June 25, will also be recognised as the year young Kenyans impeached Parliament and brought to life the Articles of the Constitution of the Republic of Kenya,” said Musyoka, who now calls himself the People’s Loyal Opposition.
