The Saudi government recognises citizens’ achievements and the empowerment of national talent as part of the efforts to strengthen the role of citizens as key contributors to sustainable development.
This includes providing the necessary educational and training opportunities to develop skills and competencies. Innovation, education and knowledge are some of the core values of Saudi Vision 2030. Investments and empowerment of citizens has made the Kingdom a desirable destination for major international events and companies, as evidenced by its selection to host Expo 2030 and its preparations to host the FIFA World Cup in 2034, among others. Saudi Arabia is making efforts to enhance the skills and capabilities of the country’s workforce to align with the demands of a knowledge-based economy, and putting in place mechanisms to build and drive healthier employment opportunities for citizens and migrants in the country.
The country is providing opportunities for all through education and training, and employment initiatives. Second, leaders must have genuine passion for development and mobilise citizens around development vision – leaders must believe in the vision. The promising outcomes being realised regarding progress of Saudi Vision 2030’s objectives are partly attributed to firm will for change, genuine passion for development and a deep belief in its goals and outputs.
Third, achievement of any vision depends on plans and action. Saudi Arabia has developed plans and put in place mechanisms for supervision. Also, partnerships are essential for greater achievement.
