Hezbollah battles troops on border as Israel pounds Lebanon

A young Yemeni man lifts a picture of slain Lebanese Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah and a dagger, during a rally held in the Huthi-controlled capital Sanaa on October 4, 2024, in protest against Israel's attacks on Lebanon and the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas militants in the Gaza Strip. The US military said on October 4 that it struck 15 targets in areas of Yemen controlled by Huthi rebels, who have fired missiles at Israel and repeatedly attacked global shipping in the Red Sea. Hezbollah said Saturday its fighters were confronting Israeli troops in Lebanon's southern border region, where the Israeli military said it struck militants from the Iran-backed movement inside a mosque.
