Kamau dominates the sea- link course with a double victory as Nyanchama rules Machakos

Home Club’s Henry Kamau proved his might to bag a double victory in the May Mug Golf tournament played at the par 71 Sea-link Mombasa Golf Course in Mombasa County on Saturday.

The Zero handicap Kamau carded 71 gross and 71 nett to emerge both the gross and Division A nett winner in the day long tournament organized by the Club that attracted 100 golfers.

“I played well with my golf ball going the right way and did my best in putting. It's great being the best Golfer today but I shall continue training more in preparation to the forthcoming Coast Open for the Barry Cup, “said Kamau.

Tirus Githaiga playing off handicap 12 was the runners up on 72 nett beating to the third slot, Coast Senior Veteran Golfer handicap 1 Gurbux Singh who had a score of 76 gross.

The Division B winner on 74 nett was handicap 15 Justine Ongere, while handicap 17 Japhet Obonyo on 78 nett and handicap 16 Edwin Kiptoo with 79 nett were the runners up and third placed winners respectively.

The Club’s Chairman Paul Munyao playing off handicap 19 was the Division C winner on 66 nett as handicap 22 Ken Mwangi settled for the runners up slot with 69 nett and handicap 28 Arbanus Kimenye brought 70 nett to take home the third-place prize.

Handicap 38 David Kabacha was the Division D winner with 85 nett and James Anzabwa playing off handicap 22 returned 68 nett to win the D division slot.

Lady golfer handicap 20 Prisca Jebet emerged the May Ladies Medal Division A winner after carding 76 nett while handicap 36 Jackline Muthai with 83 nett and handicap 56 Sweetarm Senteu on 74 nett were the Division B and C winners respectively.

Elsewhere at the Machakos Country Club Course in the same Day, Vetlab’s Lady Golfer handicap 2 Mercy Nyanchama was the Queen of the Course after carding 82 gross to emerge the Overall winner.

The event organized by the Kenya Ladies Golf Union (KLGU) saw handicap 11 Catherine Wambui win the A division on 85 gross while handicap 4 Margaret Njoki on 86 gross and handicap 10 Mwongeli Nzioka with 88 grosses were the runners up and third placed winners.

Gladys Maina playing off handicap 21 was the Division B gross winner on 92 grosses as handicap 21 Priscilla Karobia claimed the runners spot on 98 gross and handicap 28 Caroline Munyi was third on 99 grosses.

 Handicap 18 Lucy Maina carded 71 nett to win the nett division closely followed by   runners placed handicap 17 Wairimu Gakuo who had 72 nett and handicap 15 May Muthoni carded 74 nett for third place.

The Division B net winner on 71 nett was handicap 24 Ruth Mwangi while handicap 28 Lucy Wangari carded 74 nett for the runners up spot and handicap 35 Priscilla Githua was third with 76 nett.
