After reports that security officers guarding the homes of retired President Uhuru Kenyatta's mother Mama Ngina Kenyatta had been withdrawn more officers were on Wednesday morning deployed to the home.
The officers were deployed at the home a few minutes after 7:30 am. Before then, security guards from a private company were manning the premises.
At the Mutomo trading centre, more officers have been deployed to guard other premises owned by the Kenyatta Family.
The homes of the first President in Ichaweri and Muthaiga are always guarded by officers from elite GSU but last evening, the officers were recalled and ordered to report to the nearest police station.
Just a kilometre from the Thika superhighway a roadblock has been mounted by officers from Kay's police station where officers are conducting thorough checks on vehicles plying the Kenyatta Road route.
Minimal activities are however happening along the normally busy route as only a few vehicles are plying the route.
