The deputy governor takes the stand tomorrow. He had vowed to present a dossier against Siaya Gover James Orengo over alleged "rampant corruption" within the county executive that he said the assembly ignored.

The committee will then retreat to write a report, one which Speaker Amason Kingi directed should be tabled by Friday. The 10 days given to the committee to investigate the matter concludes on Sunday, but falling on a Sunday, Kingi urged that the matter be concluded by Friday.

Kisang said they would request a special sitting on Monday to debate the committee's report. Senators are barred from commenting on the merits and demerits of the matter, highly like to be decided along partisan lines.

Oduol's unanimous impeachment by the county assembly has been marred by claims and counter-claims of a political witch-hunt.

The Senate committe comprises senators William Kisang (Elgeyo Marakwet), Abass Mohammed (Wajir), Mwenda Gataya Mo Fire (Tharaka Nithi), Okong'o Omogeni (Nyamira), Dan Maanzo (Makueni) and Richard Onyonka (Kisii). Others are nominated senators Betty Batuli Montet, Catherine Mumma, Tabitha Mutinda, Raphael Chimera and Miraj Abdullahi.
