Two bus conductors who went viral for dangerously displaying acrobatic antics from a moving bus, have been arrested.
According to a statement by the National Police Service (NPS), the duo, alongside the bus driver are currently in custody pending arraignment on various traffic violations.
A video of the two conductors hanging on a door of a Buruburu-bound bus attracted a backlash from a section of Kenyans.
The National Police Service has since condemned the behavior displayed by the vehicle operators.
"We condemn the irresponsible conduct by the bus crew that exposed passengers and other road users to danger. Such conduct will not be condoned and stern action will be taken against anyone in contravention," reads the statement by the police service in part.
Additionally, the police thanked members of the public for volunteering information that led to the identification of the vehicle, the crew and the SACCO under which the vehicle operates.
"While we commend established SACCOs that have continued to enhance decorum and order in their fleet; earning a good reputation and respect from the public as a result, other PSV SACCOs are urged to follow suit," police said.
