Nigerian billionaire and Africa's richest man Aliko Dangote is among the VIPs attending President-elect William Ruto's inauguration at Kasarani stadium in Nairobi.
Dangote was sitting a few meters behind Chief Justice Martha Koome as guests continued to stream in on Tuesday.
Ruto and Dangote have a history. The two met in March 2014 when Ruto-then deputy president visited Dangote Cement's Obajana plant in Kogi state in Nigeria.
Kenya had the intent of fast-tracking licensing for Dangote Cement Company in the country, with the aim of creating employment opportunities for Kenyans.
"There Is local capacity in Africa to be able to harness resources," Ruto said in 2014 during his visit to Nigeria.
Dangote who looked into joining the Kenyan market said: "Kenya's market is very important to us and we will start immediately we get our licenses, which are about to be ready."
Dangote in January this year topped the Forbes list of Africa's richest people, with a $13.9 billion net worth ((Sh1.58 trillion).
The Nigerian business magnate has interests in the cement and sugar industries. He is currently the richest man in Africa and the 75th richest person in the world.
