Ida Odinga, the wife of Raila Odinga, on Saturday asked Kenyans who were offended by Raila's actions or remarks during the campaigns to forgive him.

Ida made the remarks at the Kasarani Stadium in Nairobi during Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya's final rally ahead of the August 9 General Election.

"On December 10, 2021, when Raila announced his presidential bid, I said I was releasing him to you. Today, he has returned here [at Kasarani Stadium]. He's run the race; he's finished the race," Ida Odinga said in her speech.

"What is only remaining, is for you to give him a gold medal," said Ida Odinga.

The ODM leader's wife said on Friday, August 5 that she prayed for Kenya as the country heads to the polls on Tuesday.

"I prayed for all Kenyans yesterday (Friday). If there's someone that we have wronged in the campaigns, we are asking for his or her forgiveness. We are going into this race with a clean heart," she said.
