Police in Kisumu are holding a suspect in connection to the fatal stabbing of a popular Ohangla manager CMM Clemo.
Clemo, who was the manager of musician Emma Jalamo, succumbed to his injuries after he was attacked and stabbed by unknown people at a nightclub in Kondele.
According to witnesses, Clemo died on the spot.
A senior police officer confirmed to The Standard that a suspect had been arrested in connection with the attack adding that a manhunt had been launched for other suspects.
Police believe a gang that has been causing terror in the city may have been involved in the attack.
“We are investigating the attack. It is unfortunate that a life has been lost,” said the officer.
Social media was awash with messages as Ohangla fans took to various platforms to mourn the deceased.
Emma Jalamo described his death as a devastating loss and called for speedy investigations.
“I am saddened to announce that we have this morning lost one of our own CMM Clemmo who was assaulted and stabbed in the wee hours of the morning,” he said.
Jalamo said the deceased was instrumental in his musical journey and was the force behind his success.
“Aside from being my manager, Clement was also my brother, friend and personal confidant with whom we've walked hand in hand for many years in my musical journey,” said Jalamo.
Clemo's body was transferred to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary.
