TVET principals promoted, moved in countrywide changes

The government has effected transfers, deployments and promotions of acting and serving principals in vocational-technical training institutes, colleges and polytechnics.

Education CS George Magoha said the changes took effect on Thursday.

While some changes are aimed at launching new institutions, others are on a compassionate basis or to replace others who are moving to new stations for various reasons.

Others have been transferred to replace retiring principals or those who exited due to natural attrition.

Sang’alo Institute of Science and Technology in Bungoma County principal Loice Yator, who has been deployed to Rift Valley Vocational Technical Training Institute (RVTTI) in Nandi County in the same capacity.

She replaces Isaac Bwambok, who has been deployed to head Masai Technical Training Institute (TTI) as principal. Agnes Rono, the Head of Department, Research at RVTTI, has been promoted to be principal at Emsos Technical Vocational College in the same county.

Kisii National Polytechnic deputy principal Grace Mauti rises to the principal. The institution’s Dean of Students Nicodemus Mirioba has been promoted to be principal of Riamo Technical Vocational College.

Kabete National Polytechnic trainer Nicholas Muriuk has been deployed to Ndia Technical Vocational College as principal.

Thika Technical Institute deputy principal Mbeke Kioko now becomes Kibwezi Technical Vocational College principal.

He replaces the current principal whose transfer was approved during an earlier Ministerial Human Resource Management Advisory Committee meeting.

Shadrack Tonui, the Chepalungu Technical Vocational College principal, moves, in the same capacity, to Kericho Technical Vocational College, whose former principal died.

Wote Technical Training Institute deputy principal Albert Munane has been deployed to Yatta Technical Vocational College as principal to resolve the issue of having three deputy principals at Wote TTI.

Magdalene Mburu, Eldoret National Polytechnic head of department, research and development has been promoted to head Nachu Technical Vocational College.

She replaces the current principal, who is to be transferred on a compassionate basis.

Mandera Technical Training Institute registrar Abdullahi Sheik has been deployed to Tarbaj Technical Vocation College as principal to help in the launch of the new institution, which has been completed.

Bondo Technical Training Institute acting principal Lucy Khoja has been promoted as its principal.

Konoin Technical Vocational College principal Haron Onguso moves to Keroka Technical Training Institute in same capacity.

Navakholo Technical Vocational College principal Patrick Rapenda moves to Butula Technical Vocational College as principal. This will deal with his being asked to hand over at his college without transfer.

Tharaka Technical Vocational College acting principal Wilfred Kamunde will now be Tigania East Technical Vocational College principal.
