The police have rescued a Standard Six girl from early marriage in Ndhiwa. The officers rescued the girl at Kabodo trading centre, Kajwang’ sub-location on Tuesday evening.

The 15-year-old girl had been married to a 27-year-old man for the last two weeks. It is reported the man first lured the girl into a sexual relationship before he decided to marry her.

Enos Nyawade, the Kajwang’ assistant chief and police officers from Kobodo Police Post arrested the suspected sex pest. The man surrendered after he was overpowered by security officers.

He was taken to Ndhiwa Police Station where he is being held. Nyawade urged parents to monitor movement of their children to keep them away from sex pests.

The girl was handed over to her parents so she could go back to school.
