Tension is high at Ilula in Eldoret after the body of Uasin Gishu bodaboda Sacco chair was found dumped in a maize plantation few metres from his home.
The body of Ibrahim Murgor 56, son of former President Daniel Arap Moi's commander escort Charles Kimurgor, was found on Saturday morning.
According to witnesses the unknown assailants removed the deceased’ eyes, injured his neck, hands and legs during the ordeal.
The father of two is said to have been vocal in championing for the interests of the bodaboda operators in the county.
Hundreds of residents including boda boda riders demonstrated along the Eldoret- Kapsoya Road stopping police officers from taking his body to the mortuary.
Murgor was killed on Friday night just metres from his home at Ilula in Eldoret.
He was on his way home when unknown people accosted him and strangled him with wires on his neck, hands and legs before throwing his body in a nearby maize farm.
Widow Christine Ong'ayo eulogised Murgor as a dedicated family man who was the family's only breadwinner.
She said that they had been in constant communication yesterday, but at 8 pm, her calls could not go through and neither were her messages answered.
"I had called him in the evening, but he said that he was busy at the police station and would come home early. Later in the night my calls were not going through and my messages were unanswered," said Ong'ayo.
Ong'ayo said that her husband was always sociable and full of life, always calling his friends.
