When it comes to etiquette, we all have different opinions as to what behaviour is acceptable and what isn't.

But an anonymous person who asked a simple question about bathroom habits has started a furious debate.

They explained that during a casual conversation, their fiancée revealed that she had peed in their friends shower after staying with them earlier in the year.

They wrote: "We had previously joked about my 'inability' to do so (I just can’t bring myself to do it, although I understand the convenience), but I didn’t expect she’d do it in someone else’s house" reports Kidspot.

They continued to say that they'd feel "rude," especially if their friends didn't do it themselves.

And said that although they know that many other people do it, they could never imagine doing so without asking first.

Upon telling their friends about their argument - who thought it was hilarious - they posed the question - Is it okay to pee in someone else's shower? - to Slate's advice column Ask Prudence to see what others think - and the results are in.

Dear Prudence writer, Danny M Lavery, said that since urine isn't exactly "sterile", he ruled that it's probably best not to pee in someone else's shower rather than to do so - unless you have that relaxed sort of friendship with them where you're comfortable to ask.

But people in the comments couldn't quite come to a unanimous decision like Danny.

One person agreed with Danny, saying if you're more than comfortable to ask and the host is happy with it then go ahead, but if you feel too awkward to ask, then don't do it.

Another person was completely baffled by the idea and didn't know that people peed in showers in the first place, and asked why you wouldn't just use the toilet before getting in the shower.

And: "Oh no! And what if they wash their bum whilst showering! Oh the horror" said a fourth.

Whilst another person said it's okay to do so as long as your friends know that you have peed in the shower, so they can clean it properly afterwards.

But what do you think? Is it okay to pee in someone else's shower?

Have you ever cried on public transport?
