“I want to congratulate the people of Nyandarua for being covid-19 free to date. However, this does not mean that the people of Nyandarua are immune from contracting the virus.” Said CS kagwe.

The CS also instructed the residents to report any stranger in their locality in order to limit the spread of the virus and ensure the county remains covid-19 free.

“I am sure there is a nyumba kumi initiative in Nyandarua. Utilize this governance structure to ensure there are no strangers coming to your villages, coming to your home because this is the main way the virus is transmitted,” stressed Kagwe.

CS Kagwe also visited the County with PPE for the health workers who he applauded for the job well done.

“We will do everything possible to ensure we protect you also and that’s why we came with PPEs to ensure even as you begin to receive cases, we hope not but if you do, then you are protected.

The Cabinet Secretary together with Ministry of Health officials emphasized that everyone should continue observing the rules and where masks at all times when in public spaces.

Today’s news comes after the Ministry of Health tested 3,365 samples in the last 24 hours raising the number of total samples taken to 118,701.
