A case where Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko (pictured) has been accused of corruption has been moved to January 27, after a dispute arose between the defence and prosecution over the manner in which the hearing was to proceed.
Prosecutor James Kihara told Chief Magistrate Lawrence Mugambi there was a pending matter in the High Court on whether the prosecution should release evidence to defence lawyers.
But Sonko’s lawyer, Cecil Miller, said no order was given to await the conclusion of the High Court case. Mr Mugambi directed that the matter be mentioned before Anti-Corruption Court Magistrate Douglas Ogoti to determine whether he had directed that the case should await the outcome of the High Court case.
