Kisii County Assembly Deputy Speaker Davins Onuso who is also the Masige East MCA will spend the night in police custody after his arrest today afternoon.

He was arrested on alleged crimes related to incitement and leading illegal demonstrations in his ward.

Onuso had been arrested by officers from Nyangusu on Tuesday evening and later released on a cash bail after he threatened to storm and attack Kiobegi DEB Secondary School Principal Cyrus Ochoke over the school's 2019 KCSE performance.

The MCA had attended a funeral where he called on locals to turn up in large numbers and storm the school.

On Tuesday afternoon, he went to Nyangusu Police station and proceeded to the area Sub County Offices where he is alleged to have caused disturbance before his arrest.

Today, the MCA mobilised several Boda Boda riders and locals and stormed the school before his arrest.

According to Nyamache Sub-County Police Commander Stephen Obara, the MCA had on Tuesday been released on cash bail as was to appear in court on Friday but proceeded to commit a similar offence.

"He has a right to be released on cash bail but he has proved to be a risk. Let's prevent further damage. He will appear in court tomorrow," says Obara.
