Police arrest man who attempted to kill lover

Police in Nyahururu Town have arrested a man who attempted to kill his lover.

The man stabbed his lover, Sharon Wamuyu, at her house on Sunday night.

According to Nyahururu Sub-County Police Commander Geoffrey Mayiek, neighbours heard cries from her house at around 9 pm yesterday.

They found the house locked from inside and broke the door.

“The woman was found lying on the floor bleeding heavily. She had been stabbed on her stomach with a kitchen knife and also had wounds on her wrist,” he said.

He observed that the man had attempted to commit suicide by hanging himself but the rope was too weak to hold his weight. “The suspect suffered slight bruises on the neck,” he noted.

The police boss said that the woman was taken to St Benedict hospital in Nyahururu while the suspect was locked up at Nyahururu Police Station.
