Siaya High Court has ordered two suspects linked to the murder of Star Newspaper journalist Eric Oloo be taken for mental assessment at Jaramogi Oginga  Referral Hospital on December 16, 2019.
The suspects, Victor Lutta and Franklin Ogolla, had appeared to take a plea but Justice Roseline Aburili ordered they be taken for mental assessment first.
The two suspects will be held at Siaya Police Station and will return to court on December 18, 2019, to take a plea.
The judge also ordered that they are brought back to the courts on December 17, 2019, to liaise with the registrar to help them get state lawyers because they had told the court that they were unable to afford the private services of a lawyer.

"Victor and Franklin are not able to afford private lawyers. They will get state lawyers. They will be held at Siaya Police Station until they return to court on December 18, 2019," ruled the Judge.

Oloo's body was found in chief inspector Sabina Kerubo's house in Ugunja sub-county on  November 21, 2019.
Kerubo appeared in court on December 2, 2019, and magistrate  James Ong’ondo ruled that she be held at Siaya Police Station.
The police were granted 14 days to detain Kerubo as she awaits the case mention on December 16, 2019.
Oloo was buried on November 30, 2019,  in Ugunja sub-county.
