Missing Wote businessman found murdered, body dumped

A Wote businessman who went missing a week ago has been found murdered.

Dominic Mutuku's body was dumped 100m off Wote-Machakos Road in Makongo.

He operated several electronic shops, among other businesses.

His father Julius Zakayo said Mutuku went missing on Monday.

His body was found with deep head cuts.

Makueni police commander Joseph Naipeiyan confirmed the incident, saying Zakayo was travelling from Machakos to Wote when he saw a crowd.

He alighted from his car at Makongo and identified the killed man as his son.

“Zakayo was travelling from Machakos and out of curiosity alighted the matatu and identified the body," Naipeiyan said.

Police have not made any arrests, although an investigation has been launched.

The body was taken to Makueni Hospital mortuary.
