A motorist whose video went viral on social media showing him wrestling a traffic police officer in his car, next to Nairobi Montessori Preparatory School has been arrested.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations has confirmed the arrest of 41-year-old man, identified as David Gikambura, after the Thursday morning incident.
Police said in their statement: “Detectives based in Karen arrested the suspect; 41-year-old David Kariuki Kamurwa at Gikambura within Kikuyu. The Motor vehicle registration number KCT 730Q confiscated and a Mobile phone which had earlier been robbed from the officer recovered.”

Detectives have said that Mr Gikambura will be arraigned tomorrow. In a one-minute long video, a police officer in a reflector jacket can be seen struggling with the driver in his car.
The commotion attracts the attention of bystanders who run to the car and pull the officer out bursting the door open. The driver then finds space and speeds off from the scene as the officer tries to chase him.
