President Uhuru Kenyatta is today expected in Kieni Constituency to preside over disbursement of Uwezo funds.
The function at Mweiga Stadium comes on the backdrop of political unease in the region.
According to sources at the Office of the President, Uhuru is expected to land at the newly refurbished Nyaribo Airstrip before making his way to the function.
State House Spokesperson Kanze Dena confirmed the President's visit.

The Jubilee Party has been pulling in different directions since the handshake.
A planned visit by Uhuru and Raila to popularise the Building Bridges Initiative has been pending, with no date given.
During his previous visit, the President lauded local leaders for being united and keen on development projects.
The President, accompanied by the leaders, laid the foundation stone for construction of an airport terminal at Nyaribo Airstrip, which was to allow commercial flights to and from Nairobi.
While the President also promised to return for the official opening of Othaya National Referral Hospital, to date the facility which cost over Sh1 billion to construct is yet to be commissioned
