Raila Odinga is losing popularity not only in his  political stronghold of Nyanza, but in other parts of the country as well.

Renowned political philosopher Niccolo Machiavelli warned that one should not trust people too much because they might one day turn against you.

This phrase seemed to have been coined by Machiavelli with Raila Odinga in mind.

The truth of the matter is that people are tired of Raila and that is why some of his hitherto key supporters have the guts to heckle him.

Raila has dashed all the hopes his supporters had in him.

His key lieutenants are having second thoughts.

Turkana Governor Josphat Nanok is one of the high profile politicians who have warmed up to Deputy President William Ruto.

When leaders like Nanok cross over to a different political camp, they do so with all their supporters.

Politics is about taking care of interests of your people, and this is one philosophy the ODM party leader seems not to have mastered.

In my community, we say you cannot step on running water twice, which basically means that things keep changing.

Politics, leadership and lies change. Kenyans are tired of dynasties and politics that are not issue oriented.

They want politics that will improve and change their lives. It is high time Raila handed over the mantle to someone else. The best he can be is a kingmaker.
