Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua has urged the US and other developed countries to ban leaders linked to corruption.
“Corruption is a form of terrorism,” he tweeted on Tuesday.
The governor joined Trade CS Peter Munya and US Ambassador Kyle McCarter in Athi River at the unveiling of the Mars Wrigley Confectioneries plant.
He went on, “I request you to ban them from travelling to hide their loot in your nations. Help us fight this graft.”
Mutua said it is unfair for corrupt leaders to steal taxpayers’ money and send their children abroad.
He welcomed local and international investors to consider Machakos their premier investment location.
“We will not meet the targets we have set … if we continue with the massive corruption. We are borrowing heavily with one hand while stealing with the other.”
