MCAs have accused the Judiciary of meddling in the Embu County Assembly’s affairs and hampering the law-making process.
The MCAs claimed they were being held at ransom by High Court judges who rush to issue orders without clearly understanding the legislative process.
The fury arose after two MCAs, Peter Muriithi (Mbeti North) and Margaret Kariuki (nominated) obtained court orders to be reinstated to the Budget and Appropriations Committee.
The Assembly had voted to reduce the membership of the committee from 11 to nine, leading to their removal. The Justice and Legal Affairs Standing Committee plans to write a protest letter to Chief Justice David Maraga over the matter.
