President Uhuru Kenyatta will this week outline his administration’s plan of implementing campaign pledges and measures aimed at cementing his legacy.

The Wednesday's State of the Nation address will be the first of Kenyatta's second and last term as President.

The address to a joint sitting of Parliament, according to State House, will focus on steps the President has taken and the progress achieved in the realisation of national values; progress made in fulfilling Kenya’s international obligation; and the state of the nation’s security.

Meanwhile, Health Cabinet Secretary Sicily Kariuki has returned from a week’s visit to the Caribbean nation of Cuba, with State House saying she sealed a number of important agreements that have been in the pipeline for some time.

State House spokesman Manoah Esipisu said a delegation from the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board had also been to Cuba and was happy with the quality of expertise Kenya was getting.

Fifty Kenyan doctors are also headed to Cuba and will return as specialists.
